I love the whole coal fire pizza phenomenon. Some places do it great (Anthony's) and others are just, eh. I have to say that Grimaldi's Pizza is my favorite. Why oh why can't you be closer in the Broward area? I digress. So, let's start with the pizza. The sauce, mozzarella cheese, and dough are all made on the premises. The crust has the perfect crunch. The cheese is deliciously subtle and the right stretch. The sauce is on the sweet side with just the right amount of salty balance. I really think this pizza rivals the authentic slices I have had in NYC. Yes, I know Grimaldi's originated in Brooklyn, but it's hard to replicate for several locations all over the country. They do an amazing job. We wanted a little green with our lunch and split the Caesar salad. It was good with slices of real Parmesan cheese. Plenty for up to 3-4 people to have a taste. They have Pepsi products, so if you are a Diet Coke head like me, you may be slightly disappointed. The service was impeccable, very friendly server and the manager also checked in on us (She even noticed I took a picture of the pizza! Busted!) Highly recommend!

Good pizza, limited menu. The kids like that they can order a personal size pizza and customize it. Note: The large salad is big enough for 4 to share. Service is ok but expect to spend at least 40mins there. We have tried to make it before a movie and you need to build in at least that amount of time to get in and out of there. FYI - If they seat you to the right side of the restaurant where the ovens are it tends to get a bit warm. On the weekends the wait is crazy so be prepared!

Terrible service ! So mean managers terrible food ! I ordered from the menu then I got something else. When I ask what is that waitress send a manager to my table. The manager was sweaty with dirty fingernails ... He said " what's up? that's our food you like it or not ? " Amazing service

We had a great dinner here - found them on yelp and decided to give it a try. Looking to have a good pizza. The pizza was great...yes it's thin crust and has a crisp crust just as it should. Mike, our waiter was friendly and attentive and definitely added to our experience. It is a limited menu as some others have said but salad and pizza are always a nice combo!

We really like coal fired pizza and Grimadi's was no exception. We had the old standby of a large with pepperoni. Making thin crust coal fired pizza must have a small window as to when it's ready, seems another 10 seconds in that intense heat would be too much. This was prepared just perfectly, seconds from too much with crispy bubbles on top and a perfect crust. The sauce and cheese ratio were correct, but I love it cheesy and might add extra cheese next time. However, both my DC and I commented on how the pepperoni actually had taste. It cooked up nicely on the pizza and had a porky, meaty flavor as it should, but rarely does. This place might be better than Anthony's which we really like also. Nice short menu; pizza, calzones, desserts, beer or wine. Next time my sister-in-law is in town I have remember to take her here. G-d, she can peruse a menu for an hour and still not know what she wants! Service was prompt and perfect but we were there at an off hour.

Best pizza in the palm beach area! It's awesome. It reminds me of the one that first started in Brooklyn. Although they've been commercialized and it's much more expensive now. It's still great pizza. I recommend getting the plain cheese pizza with lots of basil. Place on after cooking not during.

Pizza - was good. Thin crust. Cheese was a bit much. I would have preferred a little less. Pepperoni was sweet but greasy. The pesto pie was a bit interesting. Very green. The ricotta and the chicken toppings were good. The service was ok, but these seemed to be many manger types walking around ensuring everything was getting done. My cesear salad was very good. Small can serve two people. The dressing was light and the parmesean on top was tasty. The cheesecake was also good. We got one plain and one Oreo and we shared. They were good. Ambiance was good. Indoors the tables are casual but fun and trendy. They also have outdoor seating. Bathrooms were clean and had hand sanitizer. They also have an outdoor take out window. The do give the kids pizza dough to play with. Family friendly! Beer list was good, and wine list was also ok.

On my last trip to Palm Beach Gardens, I ate at Anthony's for some coal fire oven pizza, and it was great. I did not have a chance to go on this trip because I heard the siren call of Grimaldi's. My last trip to a Grimaldi's was two years ago in Scottsdale, AZ, and it was great. So how could I resist this location? Grimaldi's does not disappoint. The pizza is crisp and tasty, as it should be. The sausage has a good flavor. On a warm but not too hot spring night, eating outside is a real pleasure. The challenge is to finish the pizza because a personal pizza is 12" diameter. You might be able to finish it because of its thinness, but it can be a challenge. Service is very good, and the entire experience is pleasant. The only challenge is finding it. Grimaldi's is in an outdoor shopping center, so your GPS will get you close but perhaps not right to the front door. However, the shopping center (the Palm Beach Gardens Mall) is not hard to navigate and has the requisite "You are here" maps, so no worries on that account. If you have a chance to visit and like good thin NY style pizza, this is a great place to go.

Nothing beats the location in NYC which I was lucky to visit a few months back. We ordered the food for take out, it was a large pie with half cheese and sausage well done. It came out just the way we ordered it. Excellent pizza !

Annoyingly horrible. The smell when you walk in makes you want to immediately turn around and walk out. If you're interested in dining with flies around you and gnats making their way into your salad, then this spot is for you.

Tried this place on my lunch break...not the place to go in a time crunch. I ordered the personal size pizza and asked if there was a lunch special for pizza and salad, as there has been in every other pizza place I've been to. The server said, "No, I wish we did, that'd be good." So why don't they?? Positives: You can definitely taste the quality of the cheese and sauce. The cheese has actual flavor as opposed to the hot melty plastic like stuff Dominoes uses. The sauce looks homemade, has a fresh flavor, though I like at least a hint of garlic in my sauce and detected none. Negatives: Didn't like the crust, the flavor or the burnt pieces that I suppose is just part of the whole coal oven thing. Just not for me. And the time it takes to cook, is more than double a regular pizza. The server told me that after I'd already waited 27 mins...so I had 3 mins to eat before going back to work. The server was very pleasant, and did everything she could to help speed up my checkout process.

Excellent pizza! Super thin crust and you get to create your own pizza creation! Size options are great and definitely feed more than they say. This place is gives you a lot of bang for your buck!

Hands down the best pizza in Florida, always consistent , fresh ingredients , great service & staff! I been to the original grimaldi's in Brooklyn, and the pizza is exactly the same. Keep up the good work grimaldi's!

My favorite pizza in the area, kills Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza...no comparison at all. Always paper thin crust, nice and crispy, very flavorful and cooked to perfection. I like the fact that when they put the mozzarella on the pizza, they don't cover the entire pizza with cheese. They just kind of put the cheese on in spots, which makes the pizza saucy and not real cheesy and salty...which I love. When they bring the pizza to the table, they ask if you want garlic powder and oregano, which add a great zesty flavor to an already great tasting pie. The house salad is always fresh and I always get added salami, their house dressing is great. A good variety of deserts, cheesecakes, etc.... Definitely one of my favorite places, I usually frequent at least once a week.

Went here last week for a kids birthday party. We reserved a table for 8 kids and a separate table for adults at noon on a Saturday. They require a party of 10 for reservations so it worked out great for us. They usually put a table of kids near the back room (if possible), which we really like, as it gives a feeling of privacy. It's a great place for a kids gathering or family group. The place is very large and usually has enough noise that kid noise just blends right into the background. Just be prepared for a long relaxing meal. We were here for a party a month or so ago and the pizza took a very long time to come, but the kids were visiting so it was fine. We know the pizza takes awhile so we ordered as soon as we got there, (15 minutes before our guests were to arrive). Our waitress said it would take 25 minutes for the pizza, and this was with a nearly empty early restaurant at 11:45 a.m., so do plan ahead. Our early order worked out great, by the time all the kids were there, so was the pizza. Our server, Carrie, was very sweet and attentive. She gave the kids pizza dough to play with, and it never seems to get old for the kids. They love it every time. We had 3 large pizzas, a white, a pepperoni and a cheese. Our waitress suggested "double cut" which was great, no left over pizza on the kids plates due to oversized slices, and it's easier to eat the small slices, as the pizza is so thin, large pieces flop around. I usually prefer a thick crust, but I have to say, this was very good pizza. It tastes best hot out of the oven, the piece I ate at the end of the lunch was not quite as tasty to me. And I've found my new place for dessert. The cheesecakes and tiramisu are REALLY amazing. Served 8 kids and 2 adults with three large pizza, and one small, 10 drinks and 2 desserts for $100. With a whole pizza left over. PROS: Nice lively atmosphere for groups and families. Good basic pizza. Great desserts. Reasonable prices. CONS: Service can be slow. Good pizza, but not the best. Didn't like this pizza as leftover.

Pro: This pizza is awesome. I had the bruschetta pizza and everything was so fresh. The server was great and had some awesome suggestions. The manager on duty was very attentive and was helping clean tables. They even provide little doughs for kids which helped keep my toddlers entertained. Con's: The space inside is tight. We were in an isle and anytime someone had to go to the bathroom they were bumping up against my husband. We waited 45 minutes to get in and 30 mins for food. In total: the food is worth the wait but the seating needs some work.

To start off I have been to this location and had much better experience than I'm about to describe! Grimaldi's has AMAZING pizza that you will not usually find in FL (hint... I'm from NY)! So we decided to go there tonight for some family din din, we get there and can already see its crowded before we even get in to put our name down. We put our name down and was told 20 minutes. Ok no problem the smell of the pizza really made us wanted to stay even more. There was a lot of huge parties so a lot of the tables and waiters were occupied plus they had another large party close to the bar area. however we did notice quite a few tables were empty just cleaned and no one there or dirty tables that needed to be cleaned. By the looks of it as we stood there for 40 minutes with at least 4 tables available during this time they were definitely short of servers and needed someone to clean the tables in order to move customers along. As we stood there waiting we observed a woman and young child complaining that they have been waiting for their food almost an hour which could be right as we stood there at the least 40 minutes. It would have been nice of someone to explain or say there is a delay due to the large parties but instead no one said nothing. we almost walked out but then hostess said she was going to seat us... We sat and ordered drinks and then our pizza, caesar salad with chicken and calzone! The salad came out first without the chicken but we were so hungry that we couldn't wait any longer. I was really disappointed at the service tonight but as always fresh ingredients and tasty food!

One of the better quasi-Artisan type pizza joints in the PBG/West Palm area. They use coal fire ovens here, which produces a type of pizza that you can't get from the National chains. Reasonable prices... and they have some hot hostesses/servers too, which is a nice plus. Oneistake you often get at the fire-oven pizza joints is overly charred crust, but I have been here maybe 5-6 times and have never had that problem. Overall, good pizza.

  • Reel S.

With so many options I am shocked and the way the pizza was under done. Mediocre salads hostesses were caught up in themselves and could care less about customer service. I am shocked. This place is beautiful and clean and fun but food is just ok. Anthony on Pga Blvd is way better pizza. Way better.

  • Todd T.

I will start by saying that the pizza is very good, the service, not so much. We were greeted by very disinterested hostesses. It seemed that they would much rather hang out and chat with each other than deal with customers. The waitress was friendly enough, but placed our order incorrectly. We got our pizza about 5 minutes after the kids got theirs, but then they had to remake it because it was wrong. The kids were falling asleep by the time our pizza arrived. The waitress tried to make it the kitchens mistake, but the bill clearly showed she had input the order incorrectly. Nobody seemed particularly bothered that they made us wait so long for the pizza. I will continue to get pizzas here, but take- out instead of eat in. Also, don't get the caprese salad- tasteless tomato

Having had tons of Pizza in my life...including boardwalk slices this pizza sets it apart from NOT being very greasy if you get the cheese only option. Obviously adding meat will make it greasy. The fresh ingredients really set it apart. The crisp coal fired crust is a treat if it's not burnt. The last one I had was "perfect". I almost ate an entire personal myself but I saved 2 slices to reheat the next day. The only downside to this pizza is that it's not nearly as good reheated but I believe that because it's cooked to perfection and you can't recapture that magic when reheating it. That's fine with me. If I want good reheated pizza I'll settle for some crappy pizza hut. Nah...I'm joking. I can't even go back to eating chain pizza like that. I've pretty much eliminated the box stores, Pizza Hut.....Papa Johns, Dominos, Little Ceasars..... Have not eaten any of those in years...Last time I had Pizza Hut was maybe 6 months ago and it was a little personal Pan. Only the first 2 bites are good. With Grimaldi's every bite is as good as the last. I only order to go since I live close by so I can't comment on anything but the pizza.

Great coal fired pizza in downtown Palm Beach Gardens. We went with a group of 12 on a cold Florida night (last night). The good news is that they had outside fire heaters to keep those sitting outside warm. You may ask why a large group such as ours sat outside but it was because we brought 2 - 3 year olds to watch the light show. We ordered a total of 3 pizzas and the antipasto. One pizza was white with half spinach and half mushroom. One half classic (with tomatos on top) and half normal, and a pepperoni pizza. They all tasted fantastic however in my opinion they went very, very light on the sauce. Extremely thin layer. Certainly would have been a 5 star pizza if they would have had a normal amount of sauce on the pizza. Service was great and fast. Split the tab 3 ways and we were out. Note to others, they do not include gratuity on large parties so make sure you tip if your bringing a large party!

This place is awesome! There's always a wait but it's worth it. The pizzas are huge and the bartender is great. You can sit inside, outside or at the bar. I recommend just a basic cheese pizza and the side salad. It's a big enough meal for three people. The staff is very helpful and on point with refills. Although the place is rather crowded the noise levels are not bad and the staff does not ever rush you to leave.

We had a wonderful evening at Grimaldis downtown at the gardens. Pizza was delicious. The homemade oreo cheesecake is to die for. We sat at the bar and had a great time. Mike the bartender is great. He is very attentive and friendly. He went out of his way to take care of us. Best bartender ever. The manager Stephen Swagger was very personable . He was very accommodating. He went out of his way to check on how our food was and how we were doing. Overall excellent experience.

Pizza is my favorite food and grimaldis is my favorite pizza spot in Florida. I did like clematis location better though, too bad they got shut down. There's something about the ricotta at grimaldis, it's the best tasting ricotta ever. The only negative thing I can really say is that it's the only pizza joint I know of that charges for extra red sauce on the pizza, but besides that it's pretty much flawless.

Went to Grimaldi's Downtown for pizza Saturday night The evening was perfect, everything was just right When we arrived, they said it would be a 20 minute wait So we had a glass of wine, sat outside, the weather balmy it was just great After people watching, 15 minutes went by, our table was ready outside The waiter was friendly courteous we loved him, you could tell, he really tried We ordered the bottle of Italian Puglia Chardonnay Light, tasty, not too pricey, a big hit for the day The house salad we split, at the advice of our waiter, it was fit for a king It was outrageous, tasty, we ate every thing Then we had the Margherita pizza, with fresh tomatoes, fresh basil and cheese Anchovies on the side, our palates were wonderfully pleased If you like coal fired pizza and a nice atmosphere Grimaldi's Downtown is one of the best around here

This is my preferred pizza in Palm Beach County. It's addicting. Not everyone agrees. It's a thinner/lighter pizza and some people find it just so-so. If you do not like thin pizza, you might want to take that into mind before waiting to be seated at this very busy location. That's my segue into the cons: Very busy, you often have to wait 40+ minutes to get a seat; the pickup/take-out side of things is also slow and highly disorganized (forget realistic ETA's as to when your pizza will be done), the service can be poor (somewhat common in such a busy/frantic restaurant), and it's a bit expensive for pizza. Despite the minor cons, I have to give them five stars because their pizza is that good! Note: the downtown West Palm location is closed; the Gardens location is the only remaining option in the area.

One of my go to pizza places I florida, aside from Anthony's coal fired. Grimaldis is super high quality coal fired pizza. My fave is by far the pesto. They don't skimp on the pesto, there's a ton on the pizza. Grimaldis crust is cooked perfectly, it's the perfect amount of crisp vs chewy. If you enjoy garlic get the white pizza, my husband loves it but I'm not a garlic fan. The classic red pizza is good to but I wouldn't make a trip to grimaldis for that. Also a hidden secret, the cheesecakes here are the best cheesecakes I've ever eaten. It makes Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes look like a joke. They are super creamy and flavorful here. Recommendations are to always go with the seasonal cheesecake they have. I'm serious, if you come here, order one for dessert. You will NOT be disappointed.

Grimaldi's has become our go-to location for pizza. Just phone in your order and BLAM! that sucker is ready for pick-up 20 minutes later. There's something about a coal fired pizza that elevates it beyond the norm. The crust gets a nice, smoky flavor. Combined with some of the freshest ingredients... thick cut, spicy pepperoni, soft and creamy mozzarella... Good Lawd, Grimaldi's! We've tried some of the other pizza places in town (see my other reviews), but I've finally found the five-star pizza place I've been looking for!

    (5)
  • Dave F.

We had a lot of fun and great service at this Grimaldi's. The downside is the pizza was fairly greasy. I was a little disappointed as Grimaldi's in other cities delivers. The salad was "ok". The place is really large and getting in was no issue, though the do not take a reservation unless you are 10, or more

At Downtown Gardens in FL, TERRIBLE Crust like cracker or motza, or hard Toast! cheese & sauce dried out. Very thin which is OK but should not be so crisp. NO BEND in slice. . 2 years ago I tried here and was too crisp. Don't know if all locations like this one. NOTHING LIKE NYC PIE! I met PATSY at original under Bklyn Bridge, he would cringe at this excuse for pizza. Hope other Grimaldis know how to make. I've had over cooked blackened pies at other places which weren't so crisp. Also cheese and sauce way too little amount. Pie is supposed to fold down when you pick it up. This slice straight out DO NOT JUDGE NYC PIE BY THIS GARBAGE!

Wow. Delish!! My husband and I decided to end our *dinner hopping date with a personal pizza and a couple of beers. There were a couple of empty stools up at the outdoor bar and sat at the far end of it. Our bartender was a very nice lady and made sure we got what we ordered We ordered a personal pizza of ham and green peppers with Yuengling and Sam Adams Summer Ale drafts. The pizza did take a bit to come, but it was definitely a packed night with several families. It was still a great night with perfect lukewarm weather and cool breeze outside. They had several screen tvs inside and outside of the bar. The pizza crust was absolutely perfect. The sauce was probably what really had us fall in love with Grimaldi's. They pizza is like thin crust but not too thin, nor is it soggy or too crispy... it was just perfect! The personal size pizza is 12" so it was perfect for two people after having browsed and dinner hopped at other restaurants without having to bring any leftovers home with us. I will definitely recommend this pizzeria for anyone that visits Palm Beach Co. Cheers! *Dinner Hopping= sampling restaurants in the same plaza as you would with bar hopping. Fun experience!

New York style pizza outside of New York always deserves 5 stars. I heard they ship water from NYC for the dough. I think they could improve salads & appetizers & service/ atmosphere. The place just always seems a bit chaotic.

Great place. My boyfriend and I have tried a number of pizza places lately and this comes the closest to the best of New York. The thickness of the crust is perfect and there is ample sauce make it a moist pizza. All of our ingredients were fresh. Excellent choice!

Amazing, fresh, crispy pizza! Great wine and beer selection and the salads are awesome too. It's the perfect place if you want delicious pizza without sitting in a rundown pizzeria. Overall a great dining experience! I go every time I'm in town.

In the shopping center, we came here after a movie for an early dinner. Excellent pizza! We started with a salad to share. Portion size is huge so it was perfect for two people as an appetizer. It was super delicious! Great variety of veggies and a tasty, fresh dressing. We each ordered a personal pizza. Again, the portion size was huge! The pizza was so, so good. One of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. My husband agrees. I had the white pizza, with garlic, which I really enjoyed; without the red sauce you can really taste the cheese. My husband ordered his with red sauce and meatballs (sliced thin) and he really enjoyed it. We each had half a personal pizza to take home for lunch the next day. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and neighbors!

This is far and away THE best pizza in Palm Beach county. And maybe the best pizza I've ever had. Being from NJ as many many people are in this area (and NY). It was always a struggle to get good pizza in FL. Well, you have found it. This place is IT.

Best and most authentic pizza in town. Thin crust cooked in a brick oven with plenty of fresh toppings to choose from. Drinks were all great choices.

Best pizza we have had yet in Florida! Our waiter was really great and the Mediterranean salad was good, too.

Visited here last night for the first time. The caprese salad was super fresh. The pizza was authentic, the cheese was creamy, the crust was hand tossed and crispy, and paired perfectly with a nice merlot. Our server was super friendly and was working her tail off in the busy, busy restaurant. We finished our meal with a taste of cannoli and tiramisu, both of which were amazing. We will definitely be back!

As far as pizza goes, this place takes the cake (outside of NYC of course). Loved it when we lived in Dallas and miss it like crazy in Fort Lauderdale. Whenever we are driving through Palm Beach we stop and have a pie. The sauce is delicious and the crust is just right. We always stick with the margherita, as it's superb, but have had other toppings as well and they're all good. If you're looking for pizza, this is your place!

  • Enid A.

Never again! Arrogant bartender, who is too busy to give acceptable service. I had to kill an hour before meeting friends here for dinner at 7 pm. No Happy Hour, no lite bites and no apologies!! This is a mid-tier family pizza joint, and no effort to accommodate any other niche. Crash and Burn Grimaldi's! You won't get my business!

  • Sam K.

Phenomenal pizza. My son is a pizza-tarian so we have eaten pretty much every pizza up and down the East Coast...this is by far one of the best. So why not 5 stars? The service stinks! Every single time! We've been here at least 6-7 times now in the past few months and every single time the pizza takes forever, the waiters don't refill drinks promptly, and it takes forever to get a table even when its slow. They don't bus the tables promptly so sometimes you'll walk into a semi-empty restaurant full of dirty tables...not really appealing. But because the pizza is so good, we keep coming back. Sigh.

This place is great. Pizza was delicious!! Great service and great cheesecake! Please try it. I can't wait to visit this place again. The wait is a little long even though there were not many people however its worth the wait. Great Pizza!! Fresh ingredients. I wish the menu had more items. Pretty much salad and pizza.

We first tried Grimaldis in Vegas and were instantly hooked. When it comes to thin crust coal fired pizza this place is king. Whenever we go we get a small Caesar salad enough for two to spilt and a large pizza to ensure leftovers and we are happy for days.

Was given the once over and then seated at the furthest table away from the front door. A lady with her dog sitting on a chair at the table was seated up front and gloated over (seriously). However, service was prompt and attentive. Pizza was fair. Good crust, mediocre sauce and minimal cheese. Guess we will need to work on our tans. The search for good pizza continues.

OMG!! I have finally found good pizza in Florida! I'm a Wisconsin girl who is very picky about pies! This place I will return to over and over again! The pizza is thin crust, made in a coal fired oven. You can actually pick up a slice and it holds it's own weight! The sausage was excellent and the cheese was fresh mozzarella! There is nothing bad about it except that I had to share it with my kids. Next time.... Mama gets her own!

Pizza was really good. We got it with sausage and pepperoni. I love thin crust pizza and the the charred crust is tasty. Except for the pizza, the rest of the experience was less than desirable. The salad was plain and the dressing was bland. I gave the restaurant 3 stars based mainly on the service. It should not take an hour and a half to get a pizza which takes less than 5 minutes to bake. The waitress blamed it on the kitchen but it was clear she was the problem. We were there almost 2 hours and besides taking our order and bringing our check, we never saw her again. Someone else brought us our salad and pizza and our waitress never checked on us or refilled our water. Even when I hunted her down to ask for the bill, it took another 10 minutes just to receive it. I would return again for the pizza but if the same blonde waitress comes to the table, we will run like hell. She is so slow I'm sure she won't catch us.

Insanely good pizza good drink choice and nice decor. The pizza is best odd you put tons of Parm on it and a small touch of pepper.

Hit this spot for lunch. It is located in an upscale outdoor type mall. The service was friendly and efficient. I had a small Grimaldi's salad which contained fresh vegetables and a tasty Italian type vinaigrette. The pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza was expertly cooked, crispy on the outside with a nice "chew" on the inside. Sauce was good too, neither too garlicky/spicy not too sweet. I would definitely eat here again.

This pizza is good, really good....a bit pricey and they need to figure a way that the pizza can stay relatively warm at your table....possibly a burner/candle underneath??? Heres the thing, the place is cold, A/C cranking....they bring the pizza and put it on a little pedestal thingy about 6 inches off the table....ok, looks pretty but now there is nothing but cold air above and underneath the pizza, no insulation on the bottom to keep it warm....2 slices in and you have to call the staff to heat it up Good for take out

Went to a movie at Cobb Downtown and came out hungry. Spotted this place down the escalator which i had been by before and decided to give it a shot. Pleasantly surpised. The personal pizza was the size of a small most places and the salads were large also. Ate out side and our server was prompt and pleasant. Pizza was thin, crispy and tasted great.

For me pizza doesn't get much better! I especially love coming Friday or Saturday night to sit, eat pizza, listen to live music and people watch. If you want anything besides pizza, this isn't the place. Pizza and salad is all they do, but they do it very well.

I view myself as a bit of a pizza buff. I've eaten plenty. Grimaldi's is in Downtown at the Garden's and that's unfortunate because if it was easier to get to I would go more often. Maybe it is a good thing because I would gain a great deal of weight. When you walk in you are greeted by images of the namesakes hometown - New York. The smell of baking crust is palpable and draws in passers buy. Should you need pizza to-go the window is conveniently located facing outside so you don't have to fight any crowds. I have only had the pizza here so I can't speak of anything else, but I am a fan. Ask for the crust well done and you have a crispy Neapolitan pizza that brings me back to New York. Nothing beats real fire. Keep dining fine.

I've eaten at different locations of Grimaldi's and do enjoy the pizza. This one star rating is for the the customer service i have been given. We ordered 2 large pizzas to go and i was nice enough to give a tip. My bill was $40.28 gave a 3 dollar tip but when i checked my credit card i was charged an EXTRA $5 by the douche bag server named "Mike B." who decided to give himself a little extra on the side!!! I DONT appreciate how the staff at this establishment take advantage of their customers...Please be warned and look at your credit cards for a little extra that you did NOT approve of.

Pleasantly surprised! I was in a funk cause I was only in gardens fir 1 night and I went by my favorite pizza restaurant for lunch and it was closed. My wife found this place and believe it or not, pretty good. 4 stars due to service.

Been here many times. I discovered this place on the program Food Wars. The pizza, coal fired, is very good . Great flavors and ingredients. Just like NY city coal fired pizza. So god. Also great desserts and wine selection. Also, the salads calzo es are good. A great bar scene too and many awesome decorations of NY, which I am from right down to the subway signs. The sausege pizza is man so good , quality stuff.

Great salad and pizzas! Sitting outside here is great as you can people watch and enjoy the live music at times. Service here is consistently good and they have a nice wine list. Definitely one of the better spots in PBG for pizza!

If you like flat (and I mean flat) crust pizza, this is your place. Very over priced for pizza. Only perk I found was the nice atmosphere - NYC themed!

Great location. Mostly go there when I see movies because it is in the same plaza. Been around 6 or 7 times including the first week they were open. The first week was a train wreck, brand new restaurant we understood and gave them Another chance. Glad we did, they worked out the kinks. Good service, consistently good food, and good location. Check it out you will be glad you did. Also kid friendly.

The pizza and antipasto we ordered were both very good. However, it took over 45 mins for our antipasto to come and an hour for us to get our pizza. The waitress acknowledged that they were very backed up, but basically told us there was nothing she could do to move the order along. Eventually she started warning other parties when they were first seated that their pizzas would take an hour, I just wish someone would have told us about the wait before we were seated. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or just do not have the ovens and pizza making capabilities to accommodate the number of guests the restaurant can seat. We won't be back anytime soon, it wasn't worth the wait.

I've been to the original Grimaldi's before they moved out of the brick building in Brooklyn and I have to say the pizza here comes pretty close. This location is a little more modern and less cramped, but the pizza sure is good. The crust is nearly there and the mozzarella is fantastic. My only issue was the tomato sauce, which tasted a little off, but that's being nit picky. The small pizza is enough for two people or two meals. I was able to get half cheese, half pesto for $16. Not bad at all for a chain pizza restaurant in an upscale mall.

  • Jessica F.

Had a awesome time here. The bartender Mike took care of my friends and I. He was knowledgable on the wine selection and made great recommendations. We shared a appetizer, the antipasto salad that was amazing, and a pizza that I'm still thinking about. They also have a great outside bar to sit at. All around great time.

  • Keith M.

Sausage & mushroom pizza. Capresi salad. It seems like they found the tasty tomatoes that nobody else has. Nice to sit outside, eat plenty of pizza and not be full (great thin crust). Is it NY pizza? Well, you're in FL but this is pretty close.

3.5 stars. Love the setting. Pizza itself was good, but not mind blowing for me. I had very high expectations and while it was good pizza for sure, it didn't meet my bar. My wife would disagree - she loved this place and would give it 4 if not 4.5 stars. She was eating the leftover pizza the next day and raving about it, and was craving it on our flight back to the west coast a few days later. Certainly worth checking out, but compared to the best pizza in NYC (or Chicago or Hawaii, places I give 4 or 5 stars) this is not quite that.

  • Ting W.

The place feels like a typical family oriented Italian place. Standard red/white tablecloths. I went there because I was craving for some thin crusted personalized pizza. This place is a good place to get coal fired thin pizza. You can personalize with a 12" or 16". Each topping ranges from $2-$4 additional to the base price. You can get different based pizza (ricotta, white, pesto). We ordered the standard one 12" with chicken and mushroom as well as the Mediterranean salad. We also went there on Tuesday night which had 1/2 wine glass night. But we talked for a long time and the pizza went cold. Flavor was okay, I had to sprinkle oregano, pepper flakes, garlic salt to enhance it. I would go back to try another style pizza with their menu of toppings including anchovies, basil, mozzarella, sun-dried tomato, etc. I enjoyed the service because the waiter was very patient and explained to us how to order, he was also very tentative.

  • Abby R.

It was just ok.... As a New Yorker maybe I expected more. We ordered a few pies, so we had lots of different pizzas to try. Salads were good pizza was fine just no wow to it. Would not go out of my way up return but if I was in the are I would give them another try.

Ya know, as a native New Yawka, I guess I have this belief that I should have at least a little bit better perspective on what good pizza tastes like. That said, the original Grimaldi's, in Brooklyn, has been consistently mentioned by more than I can recall as one of, if not THE, best pizza places in the state. I guess I should say that I've never been there. So, my very first experience with Grimaldi's pizza was in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. I'll admit, the atmosphere is pretty cool. It's got that authentic-ish NY pizza joint flare and the crowd gets loud enough that you feel right at home during prime hours. Unfortunately, that's where my compliments end. We ordered both the Mediterranean (with salami added) and Caprese Salads. And while the portion sizes were certainly more than adequate, neither one really grabbed me with taste. This said, I know this is NOT Grimaldi's Salad Emporium. It's Grimaldi's Pizzeria, so I'll stop my critique of the greenery. BUT, if you're going to associate yourself with New York pizza, then represent NY pizza well! These guys do the standard metal rack in the middle of the table to hold the pizza bit, which, ya know, is ever so theatrical. Then, there's the actual product. We got the large pie with sweet Italian sausage and roasted red peppers. I swear to you, I think I saw 2 peppers on the whole pie. And why not, if you're going to offer toppings, really knock it out of the park by giving people enough of them so that they have at least a taste in every bite? We New Yawka's have big mouths, some of the toppings (that you pay extra for) in every bite couldn't possibly be that hard of an achievement! Lastly, there was the catastrophe known as the crust. My dentist will be thrilled at next checkup because I'm pretty sure I chipped a tooth or two. This crust was so overdone and crunchy that anything else on the pie was just an afterthought. This was a REAL shame for me because I had heard such good things about Grimaldi's (clearly from people who hadn't ventured out, most likely further down their own block to the local pizza parlor). But all this did was crush any and all desire I had to experience "the real deal" back in the NYC. Truth is, the only reason I'm giving it two stars is because of the company I was with at dinner.

This region just seems to be covered with coal fire pizza joints. Not sure why and I'm certainly not complaining. I could eat pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 7 days a week. Not sure if I like here or Anthony's better as far as taste, but the fact that Anthony's is slightly cheaper may vote may sway that way. Depends on what I'm in the mood for I guess. I prefer the location and bar at Grimaldis Been 3 times now and I'll definitely be back

  • Rob B.

Yes, it was good, but you be best to ask for extra sauce and not carry-out the white pizza. We had the white, plain cheese and an extra sauce and two topping pie. The extra sauce pie was great, the cheese good but the white was dry and hard and could not be resuscitated by oven or even radar love.

Good service, price isn't bad either. We had a large pepperoni pizza, it was $16 and pretty decent. There's a bar in the restaurant, and there's a couple TV's too. The pizza itself is ok. It's not bad, but I've really had better. If you at the mall where Grimaldi's is, its a good option to eat. I wouldn't drive out of my way to go there, though.

I ate a large pizza by myself. And I honestly don't regret it. An outpost connected to the legendary Brooklyn pizzeria, and not lacking much in its hyperreal reformulation. Yes, it's in a godawful mall in godforsaken Palm Beach. But the coal-fired brick oven is doing it's thing. The crust is super thin and chewy with a delectable smoky aroma emanating from the charred bottom. The limited toppings make every combination acceptable to the traditionalist in me. I opted for the mushroom and ricotta, with the latter bringing a fluffy juxtaposition to the crust's pull. The setting is as true as can be expected. Exposed red brick. Red and white checkered tablecloths. Framed photos of old New York. To be honest, the airiness due to an abundance of space is a welcome contrast to the claustrophobic stuffiness of the original location, which has been overrun by long lines of tourists. Judging from the quintessentially New York mugs that frequent this place, they too agree that the product served up here mirrors the real thing just enough to keep Brooklyn in the imagination.

Pizza is good. One MAJOR complaint. Ordered a salad with chicken and took one look at it and knew it was prepackaged meat....YUK Giving them the benefit of the doubt I asked the waiter and he apologized and said it was. I understand this is a pizza joint so you may say that is their specialty so why would you complain?? sorry, $12 for a pile of lettuce topped with rubber? NO THANKS! Grimaldis... take this crap off the menu!

  • Mazel T.

I am pretty partial to Anthony's pizza, but this place is some serious competition. The crust is great, a little thinner than Anthony's and the red sauce is equally as tasty. Grimaldi's doesn't have a huge selection of menu items (just pizza and salads) but the topping selection is great, you can create some really tasty pizzas. The price per-topping is $2 for any size pizza (Anthony's charges $1.75 for small, $2.75 for large). The service was great at the bar and at the table. If you go on a Friday or Saturday, expect to wait a while. While you wait, there is a large bar where you can have a nice glass of wine form their large selection and they also have pizza-shaped buzzers which makes it even more exciting when your table is ready, especially for the kids. If you haven't been to Grimaldi's, try it and you'll be hooked.

I was prepared to dislike this place. The high ceilings and hard surfaces made for a noisy atmosphere that made conversation a bit of a challenge. I wasn't in the mood for that kind of scene. BUT when they delivered my perfect Caesar Salad, I realized this wasn't just another pizza place with red-and-white-checked table cloths. The sald was VERY generous for a "small salad". I couldn't finish it. The same held true for the small (16") pizza with sausage and sweet red peppers. Perfectly done with nice, crisp crust and generous toppings. Could I finish it? Hell no. I took 1/2 of it home. If you want to save a few bucks, get the personal pizza (which is 12") and share a large salad. You will not leave hungry. Apart from the bad acoustics, my only other complaint was that they delivered our pizzas before we finished our salads and I felt a bit rushed. But I will definitely be back.

I don't give 5 stars that often but this place and the pizza are THE BEST! I know everyone has different things that they look for in a pizza but for me and my husband it's awesome! I love this pizza and it's worth the "pizza $$ splurge" We ate there last night and ordered a large sausage pizza with extra sauce. Paying for the extra sauce is worth it to me. It tastes soooooo good! We each had water and also a salad. I ended the evening with a cannoli to go. YUMMMMMM! Best one EVER! Description of the pizza: Slightly crispy, thin crust. Doesn't droop when you pick it up. Toppings are fresh and the sauce and cheese are amazing. The bottom comes out a bit charred but you don't even notice it. Between the two of us we always finish the whole thing. I wouldn't recommend taking one to go, only because I think it looses its luster when it starts to cool down. Pizza is really good either hot hot hot or cold. Not in between This place is worth the stop off and the $$$.

Have been looking forward to the recent opening of this classic pizzaria. Hoped it would be as good as I remembered the place in Brooklyn to be. Wasn't disappointed! Pizza crust, sauce and toppings - excellent. Perfectly cooked in the coal-fired brick oven just like I remembered from New York. The calzone is the best on planet Earth! The White Russians were the best I can recall ever being served. Our server was as good as they come. The manager even stopped by to see that all was well. Frankly, my lunchmate was brought her pizza with the wrong toppings which was stated and apologized for immediately. She was provided the correct pizza a short while later at no charge (took home for dinner). So she got two pizzas for the price of one! She was also brought a beer that wasn't ordered and it was provided at no charge. I must say the personnel could not have been more accomodating. Received some of the most superior service I have ever received. This facility is open and spacious feeling. There is seating both indoor and outdoor for both dining and the bar. There is a to go window adjacent to the outside bar seating. This facility is located just off the central park of "Downtown at The Gardens" near the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and is a most pleasant location. I highly recommend a visit to Grimaldis! Can't be beat!

Great pizza and salads.. service was less than saifactory.. Prices are way too high. $4 to put artichokes on a 12" pizza? wow.. Bread was served to table cold.. no oil or butter. Pizza came out and went to neighboring table sat there for 10 mins before the server noticed and then took it off that table and brought it to out table. it was cold and who knows if it was sanitary. This was the second bad dining experience and I only been there three times. I Will not return.

Grimaldi's is as closs as the real thing as you can get! I have been to the original in Brooklyn, and this was just as good! The bartender was great, and we loved the outdoor seating. After a terrible experience at a place next door (Dirty Martini), we were happy to have found this place.

Wow, great thin crispy pizza! Tasty crust made with water trucked in from Brooklyn and baked in a coal oven, fresh made sausage and pepperoni and homemade mozzarella! One of the best pizzas I have ever tasted! The Palm Beach Gardens is new and service was attentive. Can't wait for the West Palm location to open..... It's closer to home!

I live in New York, but was visiting family and decided to go to this location (it's a 2 hour wait in Brooklyn!). We were seated without a problem, but the service was realllllly slow and my usually patient father had to flag someone down about our missing food. I also think that the waitress brought us (and charged us for) a bigger pizza than what we ordered. The regular margherita pizza was dry, but the white pizza was decent.

The best pizza in PBC. We go to the Grimaldi's in Chelsea whenever we're in NY and you can't tell the difference between the pizza at that location and the pizza at this one. If you're looking for authentic NY pizza, this is it.

My friends and I had a large pizza, half mushroom, half italian sausage. Everything about it tasted very fresh, from the flavor-packed sausage to the marinara. I could have gone for a few more basil leaves. I also ordered Palladio Chianti, but the temperature of the restaurant made me wish I ordered a chilled white wine of some sort. Highly recommended. I'd like to come back for one of their monstrous calzones.

I was so very excited for Grimaldis to open up in my area. I lived in Gilbert, AZ for 10 years and the Grimaldis in San Tan Village ROCKED!! My boyfriend and I went to the Grand Opening in PBG and needless to say I was very dissappointed. We both went with an open mind that the service would probably be a little slow or have hiccups since it was their opening. We ordered to personal pizzas, the white pizza and the regualr pizza with meatballs. After waiting 23 minutes at the table, my boyfriend's personal pizza came out and mine was nowhere in sight. Of course he didnt want to start eating his pizza and have me sit there. After 5 minutes we asked the server if he could tell us where my personal pizza was. The server told us that their pizzas never come out at the same time. I was like huh? A personal pizza the size of a plate? 15 minutes later I was still waiting for my personal pizza. The manager came over and apologized for the delay. We spoke to him about my great expereince in Gilbert, AZ and how I had never sat at a table in AZ and waited for each of our pizza orders to come in. The manager was very nice and offered to pay for our meal. I finally got my personal pizza about 20 minutes after my boyfriends pizza came to the table. We left without any want or need to ever return. Ok...we wanted to give Grimaldis another shot and went back for a second visit last night. We ordered (1) small white pizza. We were going to eat and then see a movie. The place wasnt busy at all. We ordered drinks and waited for our small pizza to arrive. 23 minutes went by and still no pizza. Mind you this was a small pizza. No special order. Server finally came by and we asked if he could check on our pizza. He came back and apologized for the delay and said "I don't know what they are doing back there, we arent busy". Another 10 minutes rolled by and the manager came by our table to apologize saying "I'm not sure what their problem is in the kitchen, our coals might be too hot". What?!? Seriously!!! we called our server over and told him to please give us the bill for our two beers and we needed to leave so we wouldnt miss our movie. We had sat at our table for over 40 minutes for a small white pizza!! We so wanted to have a great experience this time. And it was very dissappointing. We will now never be back.

Best pizza in this area. Limited menu, but what they do have is fantastic! People that carp about the menu want a new wave, artsy, fartsy pizzeria, but not a real pizza restaurant like this place. All ingredients are fresh. Our pick for best pizzeria in Jupiter area.

  • Anne A.

We have been to the Gardens location 5 times and the pizza was wrong 4 times including tonight. Pretty frustrating when you are craving their crispy crust and red sauce. Service has also slipped. Take out is not a good option as there seems to be a preference for the dining room orders over takeout. Hoping they improve and get back to 5 stars soon!

  • Krista S.

Pizza is great. I don't care for their red sauce, but they also have white and pesto pizza I will try next time. Calzones are amazing too! Had to deduct one start because they still have a few kinks to work out (its only been open a few weeks). The servers don't seem to know where the tables are. Saw them walk up to the wrong tables several times with pizzas. Apparently, they did this with our pizza and the other table ate it! So they had to make us a new one. But the manager and server were very apologetic and attentive...even gave us a piece of the cheesecake (oreo - AMAZING!) on the house. Overall a great experience. I will wait a few weeks and go back for the white pizza. Hopefully, they will have the kinks worked out and I can give them 5 stars!

  • LnE R.

We waited a long time and it finally opened. We expected the best pizza and it didn't disappoint. I heard the wait was out of control so we ordered it to go. It is expensive but worth it. If it were priced better we would go every week but since it is almost double the price of a local pizzeria we will just go every once in a while. Anthony's is good, this pizza is great. Thank you for bringing a real NY pie to PBG.

  • Florida M.

have eaten there several times since they've "officially" opened and i have to say.....THEY HAVE THE BEST CALZONES ON THE PLANET. so not only does their pizza knock one out of the park....so do their cazones. btw.....you can put any pizza topping inside the calzone. my 1st had onions (omg) and the 2nd had pepperoni (same comment)

  • Dee G.

Disappointing. Expected better considering the raves. Slow service. Pretentious table settings and ads. Okay, I understand that it's thin crust New York style not thick crust Chicago style. But this crust was thinner than a cracker and blackened in spots. Thin, flavorless sauce and hard to notice the cheese. Maybe that's why they'll charge for more sauce and more cheese. Cheese! By weight, it's over priced. Next time we're in the neighborhood we'll try the place with 115 beers on tap.
